OurJewishCommunity.org is proud to announce its new online memorial program. These online memorials will allow you and your family to capture and share the life story of a loved one. This is not only a unique way to remember your loved one, but it also helps support OurJewishCommunity.org and strengthens our online community.
During the period of time following a loss of a loved one and very often for many years after a loss, families take great comfort in sharing stories with friends and relatives, reviewing photographs, and reading about what a loved one truly meant to those who knew him or her. These activities can be helpful in a family’s grief recovery process and can also ensure that loved ones are long remembered.
Having an online memorial created in your loved one’s name will allow you to capture his/her life story, share it with friends and family today, and archive it for future generations.
The concept of an online memorial fits well with our mission of bringing Judaism to people where they are using the tools of the times. Online memorials offered through OurJewishCommunity.org serve as a way for our supporters to help us continue building our organization for the future while also recognizing the important contributions of those who have come before us. We have selected Making Everlasting Memories® (MeM®) to provide a beautiful online display of a Biography, Written Memories area, Image Gallery, Family Tree and a private Family Resource area for storing special documents. Many of you were touched by our Yom Kippur online Memorial service; the slide show of photographs and names was created by Making Everlasting Memories®.
On our website (www.OurJewishCommunity.org), you will find that we’ve created a special area for the display of online memorials where family and friends can visit anytime, from anywhere. This is a powerful way to enhance our online Jewish community.
You can purchase a memorial tribute for a loved one – and begin immediately capturing and sharing the life stories of a family member or friend. These memorials are permanent records that will be maintained in perpetuity. A portion of the cost is placed in an endowment maintained by MeM® to ensure ongoing support for all tributes. If so desired, the contents of each memorial can also be used to create beautiful personalized printed keepsakes to help honor and remember your loved one. The net proceeds of this online memorial program, which we expect to be an important, long-lasting part of our organization, will go to help us in our efforts to continue to grow OurJewishCommunity.org as a vibrant Jewish community for the present and future.
An online memorial can be purchased at an introductory price of $425. Keepsake books are available for $45 per book.
